Men charged with impersonating police officers – Sydney CBD

Police have charged two men with impersonating police officers in the Sydney CBD.

At 10.10pm yesterday two men have attempted to enter a hotel on George Street, Sydney, but were refused entry due to intoxication.

Police were told the two men then produced a police notebook and claimed to be undercover police officers conducting an operation.

Hotel management contacted police from The Rocks Local Area Command who attended and arrested the two Queensland men, aged 20 and 19. Officers also seized a police notebook.

The men were each charged with impersonating a police officer and granted conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on 5 July.
